An Initiative of The Society of Our Sacred Honor

America Remember is one of the core initiatives under The Society of Our Sacred Honor (SOSH), focused on honoring, reflecting, and learning from America’s rich history. The initiative is designed to invoke hope, pride, and admiration in every American, drawing from the sacrifices, successes, and failures of those who came before us.
The purpose of America Remember is not to act as a traditional history book but to bring history to life, inspiring Americans by sharing stories and lessons from the country’s past. It focuses on learning from all who shaped the nation—whether they be founders, ordinary citizens, women, men, or any group who contributed to the American story. This initiative covers a vast range of topics, from war and business to family, music, and personal stories of perseverance.

Mission

The mission of America Remember is to pay tribute to the people, moments, and ideas that have made America what it is today. Through this initiative, SOSH provides a space for members and the public to share stories, reflect on the lessons of history, and honor the collective memory of the United States, from its founding days to the present.
As Patriots of The Society of Our Sacred Honor, members of America Remember hold great respect for all common patriots who came before us. The initiative strives to evoke a sense of pride and strength drawn from America’s historical figures, events, and experiences—whether grand or small, heroic or humble.

Core Components of America Remember

America Remember manifests itself in two key ways:

These two elements are designed to be complementary, offering both a digital and physical space for Americans to interact with the country’s history.

Online Component

(Coming soon)

The online aspect of the initiative allows members and the general public to engage with American history in a dynamic and interactive way. The goal is to make history accessible, engaging, and inspiring to all who visit.

Online Features Include:

  • Short Historical Accounts: Concise summaries of key moments in American history.
  • Short Stories: Personal or lesser-known stories from America’s past, contributed by members and the public.
  • Trivia: Engaging historical trivia to educate and entertain.
  • Tributes: Spaces for members to offer tributes to influential historical figures or personal heroes.
  • Legendary Stories and Lessons Learned: Stories of hope, loss, perseverance, and the lessons Americans can take from history.
  • Funny Stories and Hysterical Historical Moments: Entertaining accounts that reveal the humorous or unexpected sides of history.

America Remember encourages members to share personal stories, family histories, or any event or figure from American history that has had a lasting impact. It spans from the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the New World to the events of yesterday, making history a living, breathing part of modern American identity.

In-Person Experience

Beyond the online platform, America Remember takes history out of the virtual space and into the community. Through local Chapter events, members host regular America Remember meetings and activities that are open to the public.

Key elements of the in-person experience include:

  • Regular Meetings: Led by the Chapter Historian, these meetings offer an opportunity for members and the public to engage with selected historical topics, events, or figures.
  • Field Trips: Visits to significant American historical sites, such as military cemeteries, Washington D.C., Civil Rights landmarks, and battlefields, offer powerful ways to connect with the past.
  • Speaker Series and Film Nights: Events featuring expert speakers or historical film screenings to deepen members’ understanding of key events.
  • Social and Trivia Nights: Fun, engaging evenings that mix entertainment with education, such as historical bingo or trivia focused on American history.

Chapter America Remember Meetings

Each local Chapter of The Society of Our Sacred Honor has a designated Historian who leads the America Remember Committee. This Historian is responsible for organizing and chairing the meetings, ensuring that they are both educational and engaging.

Key Responsibilities of the Chapter Historian:

  • Sets the topic and agenda for each meeting, deciding which historical events or figures will be the focus.
  • Oversees research and the presentation of materials.
  • Invites guest speakers, organizes discussions, and moderates conversations.
  • Coordinates additional activities like trivia, movie nights, and field trips.
  • May appoint additional committee roles (Vice Historian, Secretary, Research Assistant) to assist in meeting organization, with the Chapter Commander’s approval.

The Historian’s role is crucial for the success of the America Remember meetings, as they ensure that each event is a meaningful exploration of history, aligned with the goals of SOSH.
